OUR TEAM

BILL McGUIRE, AIA

Bill doesn't look at things as problems, but as something that needs solving, improved or ‘fixed’. Being an architect, builder, family man and a member of the Nantucket Community gives him plenty of opportunities to put his ‘fixing’ abilities into practice. Designing for clients and building his own home at the present time keeps him busy enough, but he still finds time to give back to the community that he loves. He has been the squadron commander for the local Civil Air Patrol, past Scoutmaster for Troop 97 and currently on the Cape & Islands District Committee, Boy Scouts of America. Bill is also on the board of Sustainable Nantucket which is helping our community learn about healthy foods and eating habits.

Bill's family is the most important part of his life. Along with his wife Holly, he has raised four of their own children and numerous foster children on the island. Bill & Holly enjoy walking their dogs and visiting with their children and grandchildren.

STEPHEN THEROUX

Stephen grew up in the rural  farming community of Westport, MA. He studied architecture and design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. While there, he worked as a designer under architect Stanley Pinska.. Pinska and his partner Arthur May designed the Opus De headquarters in New York, and is mentioned in the book The DaVince Code. Stephen moved to Nantucket in 1986 and served as project manager for Design Associates Architects. In 1993, he opened Nantucket Architecture Group LTD with partner William McGuire. Stephen currently lives in Tom Nevers with his wife Karen, son Evan and dog Rocky. Stephen enjoys cooking and is very active in the community. He volunteers his time to many non-profit organizations, especially Nantucket Ice, Nantucket Youth Hockey and Nantucket Little League. He was recently honored with an Advocates of Children Award from the Nantucket Community School.

HOLLY WALKER

Holly Walker has been our bookkeeper and office manager for 17 years. When she is not in our office, she is either working at Marine Home Center in the accounting office or at her desk at home researching geneology. You may also find her building, hiking or gardening. Holly is most happy when she is busy, so she is a hard one to pin-point at any given time. Being the grandmother of two young boys is her new passion and visits them up in Vermont whenever she can get away.
